Web sites that I'm at least partly responsible for in someway. Many of these are quite old (in Internet terms) and haven't been maintained. I keep them around for historical purposes.

In the mid to late 1990s I created a number of websites to support courses I was teaching. The two latest versions of these websites are:

Since 2000/2001 I've been working at supporting other staff use the Internet to support their teaching and learning. The main result of this work has been the default course site system on the Faculty of Informatics and Communication Web Site. This system ensures that all courses offered by the faculty have a default website which also provides a number of services for both staff and students.

You can see the default course sites in action for the Winter term, 2002 courses.

I'm also part of the team that supports the Faculty of Informatics and Communication Web Site. This involves more than web page design. It includes implementing organisational information systems to support the operation of the faculty.

This includes services such as

  • MyInfocom portals for both students and staff.
  • Online assignment submission and management systems.
  • Online quiz systems

The interest in using the Web for education led to a book "Building a Web-based Education System" and a project called Webclass intended to help CQU staff use the Web in their teaching. The Webclass web site is intended to support both the project and the book.

The Webfuse site is designed to support the development and use of the Web publishing system Webfuse. Webfuse is a Web publishing system built using an architecture which borrows concepts from the field of operating systems and micro-kernel architecture. Webfuse is the major part of my Master of Applied Science degree.

CQ-PAN is a project which aims to provide CQU computing students with the ability to be involved with developing and maintaining a real system with real users. The Web site has gone through a number of generations with Andrew Newman and Matthew Aldous being responsible for much of the design.

The project is now defunct but the website is still around.

The EBP website was a consultancy with another colleague to implement a website to support a conference.
