Everytime a CQU academic goes on a CQU funded trip he/she is expected to produce a trip report.

1998

1998 was a slow year. The only conference I attended was WWW'7. WWW'7 was the major technical Web conference for 1998.

1999

1999 has been a good year so far, thanks mostly to consulting money. So far 1999 has seen three major trips

• Ballina for Ausweb'99
  The trip report for this trip is still under construction.
• Los Angeles and Cancun
  This trip started with going to Los Angeles for the First ICSE Workshop on Web Engineering was to present a paper co-written with Teresa Lynch, A Model for the Design of Web-based Systems that supports Adoption, Appropriation and Evolution.

  After Los Angeles came Cancun for the International Business Association Conference to presenting the paper, Web Information Systems Development: Some Negelected Aspects, written with Shirley Gregor, Teresa Lynch and A. Alison Plummer.

  Both papers were produced as part of the Web Information Systems group within the Faculty.

• Monterey and Seattle
  After 10 days back in Rockhampton it was off again for the 1999 Usenix Technical Conference in Monterey. This conference was purely professional development for teaching 85349 and 85321, no paper presented.

  A week after EdMedia 1999 was held in Seattle. I attended and presented the paper Webfuse: An Eclectic, Integrated Web Authoring Tool which is based on the work I'm doing for my 3rd (and final??) Masters topic.

2001

I attended the CBLIS'2001 conference in Brno in the Czech Republic to present the paper RCOS.java: a simulated operating system with animations. The trip report is available as is a short diary that includes some photos and video.
